How to Upload a Document

To upload a document you will need to enter the following information into the appropriate fields:

  1. Your last name as it appears on your Account/Document
  2. Your Date of Birth written with 2 digits for the month and day and 4 digits for the year, in the format MM/DD/YYYY
  3. Your SAL Application ID Number*

    * If you do not know your SAL Application ID number then please click here, enter your information again, click "Submit", and you will be provided your application ID.

Your document(s) will be rejected if:

  1. The document is electronically signed/initialed

Georgia Student Finance Commission cannot accept any document that is electronically signed. Typed signatures or signatures provided through DocuSign, Adobe, or any other electronic signature service will be rejected.

You must sign/initial each page where appropriate by hand in blue or black pen ink.

  2. The document is not clear or text is cut off

The document must be clear and legible when printed out on standard 8.5x11 inch letter sized paper. If you are providing a photo of the document, you must ensure the full page is present in the image, and all text is clear and not blurry. We recommend you use a high-quality scanner to prepare your documents for upload.

  3. Your upload contains multiple pages in a single photograph

If you are uploading a photograph of a document that contains multiple pages, you must provide a separate photo for each page. Do not upload any photo where multiple pages are present in a single image. We recommend combining the separate photos into a single PDF, or uploading each photo separately.
